About The Event
This engaging two-hour hands-on workshop for children will be organized into six groups, each participating in a written group quiz based on six activity stations during the morning session. The event will conclude with the quiz results, followed by an active drill and physical training session.
The activity stations feature a blend of wartime artifacts and accurate modern reproductions, accompanied by fact-finding folders. They encompass various aspects of life on the Homefront, including rationing, British militaria, and the ever-popular dressing-up station, which the children thoroughly enjoy. There will also be ample opportunities for photographs.
All quiz sheets, fact-finding materials, and labels are designed using a Dyslexia-friendly font and color scheme.
The drill session will take place outdoors, where each child will be provided with a wooden rifle, reminiscent of the Local Defence Volunteers at the war's onset.
The workshop can be facilitated by a member of the Local Defence Volunteer…
